What is the Toronto Trek for Teens?
The Toronto Trek for Teens, or T3 for short, is a charitable project set up by youth for youth. The trek itself consists of a team-oriented race which will take place in downtown Toronto place on May 14th 2011. Teams of youth aged 13-19 will be required to solve problems and find hidden clues, working together in order to successfully complete the course (much like the Amazing Race). Furthermore throughout the day there will be ongoing festivities at and around Yonge-Dundas Square.
The event is being coordinated through the efforts of Toronto area youth. The event initiated 3 years ago through the leadership and guidance of the Rotary Club of Etobicoke. The event has been a great success, raising just under $15 000 for Covenant House Toronto through the efforts of volunteers, participants, and everyone involved.
We encourage everyone to become involved in T3 whether it be as a volunteer, performer or competitor, or a supporter of the Fashion Show or the battle of the bands. This is a great way to fulfill your community service obligation for school, or to just get involved in your community. All funds generated by this event will go youth homelessness initiatives, and charities working to help kids get off the street and find stability in their lives.
The Toronto Trek for Teens event will be taking place this year on Saturday May 14th, 2011.

How we began
In 2007, a team of high school students from the Toronto area initiated the Toronto Trek for Teens project. The students first met at the 2007 Camp Enterprise program run by the Rotary Club of Etobicoke, where as a part of the program they were asked to select a charity and create a plan for a fundraising event. The Trek for Teens idea was chosen, and the team worked under the mentorship of the Rotary Club through their first year. The Toronto Trek for Teens is now in it’s third successful year, and has brought in approximately $15000 for charities helping homeless youth.
