"Will you please tell Santa that instead of presents this year, I just want my family back. No toys. Nothing but Peter, Kate, Buzz, Megan, Linnie, and Jeff. And my aunt and my cousins. And if he has time, my Uncle Frank. Okay?" This November in collaboration with the St. Mike's Philanthropy Council, the Toronto Trek for Teens celebrated the holiday season with (what else?) Home Alone! For just a $1.00 donation, movie lovers gathered in Brennan Hall on the UofT campus to catch the family favourite and enjoyed some pizza and drinks.
In addition to the movie, there was also a raffle for some prizes and a clothing/toy drive. Over 122 clothing items (worth about $640) were collected and the movie itself raised over $100. All event proceeds and donations went towards Toronto youth shelters.
A special thanks goes out to the SMC Campus Ministry for supplying the food and all the attendees who came out to support the cause!
